You can still be stylish and cool while working out at the gym. Thank your gym clothing and accessories for that.
This post is all about fashion gym trends of this year that I think every gym enthusiast should check out. If you are an active gym-goer, then you need to keep reading, because this year is all about looking great and comfortable in multi-purpose gym wear that will make you stand out and feel confident during your sweat sesh.
Ready? Let’s go!
These leggings have ‘windows’. They are stylish, sexy and beautiful. They are typically made of nylon, which means they are lightweight and moisture wicking.
These leggings are gaining more popularity as celebrities like Lily Collins, Gigi Hadid and Taylor Swift have been seen walking around in them. But you don’t need to be someone famous to wear mesh leggings.
Wear them anytime you like, be it at the gym or at the park. They are so versatile that you can casually wear them almost anywhere, anytime — even to a brunch date!
Crop Top Sports Bra
Get that Sporty Spice look when you put on a crop top sports bra that will not only flaunt the abs that you’ve been working so hard on, but also that beautiful female curve you’ve always had.
Celebrities like Gigi Hadid, Romee Strijd, and every gym-going celebrity are seen wearing crop top sports bras, paired with stylish leather jackets as they go about doing their everyday routine.
Pullover Lifting Hoodies with Bright Running Shoes
After a tiring gym session, wouldn’t it be nice to hit the shower and put on clean clothes? If it’s chilly outside, you might want to top your t-shirt with a nice pullover hoodie to keep the top part of your body warm.
For men gym wear, pair it with a pair of long pants or knee-length shorts. For the ladies, pair it with mini shorts that will flaunt your beautiful legs, or long pants that are tight or loose; not bulky. If both your top and bottom are in dark colors, pair them with a pair of bright-colored shoes. The Nike neon green running shoes are absolutely stunning!
Black Glossy Leggings
Black glossy leggings don’t need to try hard to look stylish because they’re already are. For a glimpse, they look like leather. Or something a male rockstar or fitness instructor would wear.
Pair your black glossy leggings with a white crop t-shirt or singlet for the gym. But when you’re outside of the gym, go ahead and pair them with a white or gray crop sweatshirt.
While glossy leggings typically come in black, today you can see more of them in bright colors, from baby pink to kelly green. They’ve become so popular that they they are now an activewear staple among gym enthusiasts.
Great. Now you can add more color variety to your closet!
When I think of Harem pants, I instantly think of belly dancers. But the pants are not limited to only that one group of people. Yoga practitioners and gym fanatics (both men and women) wear them, too! Harem pants are such a relaxed outfit that make them suitable for yoga, pilates and light exercises.
Some people don’t agree that Harem pants should be allowed at the gym. Why not? I wouldn’t recommend anyone to run on a treadmill in Harem pants, but I think it’s acceptable for people to do light workouts in them.
Again, it all depends on what activities you’ll be doing. Because Harem pants have a dropped crotch, you should not, at all cost, wear them when cycling.
Gym Scuba Crop Top
The scuba crop top fashion is in. Whether you prefer it with or without a zip front fastening, you’ll still look great in it.
I recommend going for a scuba crop top with multiple colors or patterns. You can always pair it with any fashionable bottom during your days off from the gym.
After reading this post, what do you think will you wear at the gym tomorrow?
Do you ever wish that your beachwear could be better? Something that has great pockets, not too long or too short. And something that perfectly fits you, not too tight or baggy. Most importantly, not ugly.
Gym Apparel: How to Choose the Right Workout Clothes
When working out at the gym, it’s always important to put comfort first, style second. Pushing your body to the limit isn’t comfortable to begin with, and not wearing the right gym apparel would only make your workouts unpleasant.
But you can have a wonderful gym experience simply by giving yourself something comfortable to train in.
So how to know what workout clothes to buy? Well, there are a few things to consider prior to buying your gym apparel. You need to consider:
The Choice of Fabric
Before purchasing your gym apparel, you need to look at the materials first. What are they made of — cotton, synthetics or blends? This is important as it will help you choose the right fabric to suit your active lifestyle.
Go for workout clothes that are sweat wicking as they’re breathable. Breathable clothes will not trap your sweat hence prevent the growth of odour-causing bacteria. You don’t want to smell bad at the gym, do you?
Fabrics we recommend:
The right fit
Don’t wear anything restricting.
Choose something loose and comfortable, not something too tight or too loose. Anything body hugging is acceptable, as long as it is also comfortably stretchable. This will be essential especially when you do yoga or any other activity that requires you to move around or stretch your body.
Activewear for Men and Women
Choosing the right gym apparel is important as it will determine how comfortable you’re going to be during training.
Many women like to wear legging at the gym simply because it is a great outfit for any activity. Since legging can be worn outside the gym, it makes a great jogging wear.
In fact, many women wear it as a baselayer in the cold months. That means it is a great all-year-round item to have.
Choose a legging that wicks away sweat to keep the bottom part of your body fresh always. This is especially important to any woman who sweats a lot around the thigh and butt area.
Another characteristic of the legging that makes it wonderful is that it is comfortably lightweight. It won’t take a lot of space in your bag.
Consider getting a legging with pockets so you can easily slide in your mini music player to accompany you during workouts.
A workout tee is an excellent choice if you don’t want to show too much skin at the gym. What’s great about it is that it can be worn all year round, even outside of the gym.
A great workout tee is one that wicks off sweat and has ventilation to keep you feeling fresh throughout your workout session. It can also prevent the growth of odour-causing bacteria.
Consider wearing cotton as the material is breathable. It will not trap your sweat, which also means you won’t feel sweaty all the time.
Choose a tee that fits you right. It should be loose, but not oversized. Try something that comes in bright colours. And look around for a tee that is available for all body types.
At the gym, women should always go for a sports bra. A sports bra is designed to give women the right support when working up a sweat and toning up their bodies. It holds the breast firmly and wicks away sweat better than a regular bra.
Sports bra is suitable for bodybuilding or cardio exercises like kickboxing and zumba. It is very easy to wear — easy to put on and take off thanks to its elastic band.
Usually, the padding of a sports bra is removable for easy washing. Make sure yours is able to wick away moisture in order to avoid disgusting sweaty feeling at the end of a workout.
An all-time favourite, the hoodie is a great before-and-after gym session outfit. It is also essentially great if you’re one of those people who like to wear a hoodie during workouts.
A hoodie will come in handy when it’s cold or raining outside.
Go for a cotton blend hoodie that is stretchy, breathable, soft, and light.
It would also be nice if it has inside pockets and less visible outside pockets for storage. You can easily keep your MP3 player in your pocket while you workout.
Both men and women can be seen wearing shorts at the gym. Shorts might not be the best option for yoga, but it’s perfect for bodybuilding.
Go for elasticised shorts that can draw moisture and heat away to keep you cool during workouts.
For the ladies, wear shorts that are above the knee only. For the men, shorts are that above the knee or slightly under the knee is fine. Nothing baggy.
When training at the gym, you shouldn’t let heaviness, chafing, sogginess or tearing to back you down.
So before you head down to the store to shop for your gym apparel, consider what fabric it’s made of, if it fits you right, or if it’s designed to help you feel comfortable before, during and after your workout.
